Revenue Recognition: Multiple Element Arrangements, Nonmonetary Exchanges, and Other Selected Topics

In this webinar, Jane Poulin (CPA and former SEC Associate Chief Accountant for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission) provided a refresher course on general revenue recognition principles and highlighted often-overlooked pitfalls.  Her discussion focused on the practical application of EITF 00-21 as a first step in evaluating revenue arrangements, and addressed why to expect more non-monetary transactions to be accounted for at fair value. She also discussed how FAS 153 and EITF 04-13 have completely turned around how you account for nonmonetary exchanges.
